Setting trim on race model gliders

Trim is set in the thermal position of flaps. There is black mark on the flap rope as a reference. I suggest you set the rope until the bungee coming out of the keel looks like this.

This is the thermal position. Make note of where this black mark on the rope is on the speed bar to replicate in flight. You can also use a permanent marker to make a small line on the speedbar to line it up with( I do this ).

It’s best to do this on an early morning or evening flight when it’s not thermic or windy. Put the flap rope into thermal position, go hands off and look at speed indicator.

Goal is 24 mph or 38.62 kph.

Remember your speed and make adjustments. Move the hangstrap 0.5 cm at a time.

If slow move it forward towards FAST and if fast move it towards SLOW. Remember if you feel shaking chances are your to slow. Pull in a little to speed the glider up.
